Spring Will Be Here Before You Know It!

This is Loki, a Poodle, Rottweiler mix.

Even though spring is right around the corner, it was only last month that we started a new year. Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? I made business resolutions and have been doing well keeping them. One resolution was to get involved with dog shelters/ rescues by spending time with animals or by means of donations etc. Since my last blog, I went to the Friends of The Attleboro Animal Shelter and spent some time with one of their dogs, Loki, who is still available for adoption. I’ve been chatting with a few rescues and am excited to be teaming up with them to support their fundraising efforts.

For now, it’s still technically “winter,” which means icy and slushy conditions, as well as cold temps. We can’t let our guard down when it comes to the safety of our dogs:

·         Continue to wipe down your dog’s paws when they come inside- there’s still plenty of salt lingering outside.

·         Invest in winter gear- you may be that animal who refuses to wear coats in the winter, doesn’t mean that your dog shouldn’t wear one.

·         Protect your dogs’ paws with paw balm and/or booties- we do the balm, as my dog will legit STAND STILL and not move until they’re promptly removed.

·         Keep your dog active with indoor activities- when it’s super cold outside, I also want to lay on the couch for some snug time but that’s not a healthy choice.

Hang in there, punks- spring will be here before you know it!
